Wapello County 4-H Member Receives Bettis Scholarship


AMES, Iowa – A Wapello County 4-H member has been awarded a 4-H scholarship. Brent Reck, Blacksburg, received the Lloyd and Kathryn Bettis 4-H Scholarship in memory of Herbert Bettis.

Reck, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Lonny and Cathy Reck. He has been very active in the breeding and market beef project areas, earning Champion Simmental Breeding Heifer honors at the Iowa State Fair and Supreme Champion Breeding Female at the county fair several times throughout his 4-H career. He has also served as president and vice president of his  4-H club.

Reck is a senior at Iowa State University.
