Sac County 4-H’er Earns Leadership Project Award



AMES, Iowa – Amy Peyton of Sac County received a state 4-H leadership project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment and the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Peyton, 18, is the daughter of Harold and Sue Peyton of Sac City.


During her 10 years in 4-H, Peyton has completed several major projects including leadership, citizenship, communication, home improvement and clothing. She has received many state 4-H honors including a home improvement project award and being a member of the Iowa 4-H Technology Team. Along with these, Peyton has received many top county level awards such as top senior record book, educational presentation and clothing selection. She also has been the president and secretary of her 4-H club. She has served on her county, area and state 4-H councils. Peyton also has participated in the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and was a National 4-H Congress winner.


“4-H has given me so many opportunities and allowed me to meet a number of amazing people,” said Peyton. “It truly is a program that has changed my life!”


Peyton is a senior at East Sac County High School.
