Adair County 4-H’er Earns Beef Project Award

AMES, Iowa – Rachel Herr of Adair County received a state 4-H beef project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment and the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Herr, 16, is the daughter of Paul and Virginia Herr of Fontanelle.
During eight years in 4-H, Herr has completed several major projects including beef, food and nutrition, citizenship, clothing and agriculture and natural resources. She has received many state honors including the Seals of Excellence and Merit in communication. Along with these, Herr received many top awards at the county level such as outstanding intermediate and junior, the 4-H Spirit Award and beef and nutrition pins. She also has been the vice president, treasurer and reporter of her 4-H club. She also has served on her county 4-H council and participated in the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
Herr is a junior at Nodaway Valley High School.
