Buena Vista County 4-H’er Earns Leadership Project Award
AMES, Iowa – Kathleen Arnts of Buena Vista County received a state 4-H leadership project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment and the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Arnts, 16, is the daughter of Bernard and Peggy Arnts of Alta.
During her eight years in 4-H, Arnts has completed several major projects including leadership, citizenship, home improvement, swine and photography. She has been the president, vice president and secretary of her 4-H club. She has served on her county 4-H council and has been a participant at the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
“4-H has made me a much more confident person,” said Arnts. “It has showed me I can do anything I want to. All of the citizenship and leadership opportunities I took will help me in all my future plans. I feel very blessed to be a part of 4-H.”
Arnts is a junior at Alta High School.
