Forestry Field Day Offered in Southern Iowa
AMES, Iowa -- The Iowa Farm Bureau, Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Iowa State University Extension are presenting an educational Forestry Field Day, in Lucas from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 27.
Topics to be presented include: carbon credits for existing and planted forestlands; woodland individual retirement accounts; timber management; marketing of timber resources; and forest stand improvement techniques.
In addition to indoor presentations in the morning, outdoor woodland tours will showcase ongoing forest treatments. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
The program will be presented at the Lucas Community Center, which is on Route 34 between Osceola and Chariton. The hall is at the east end of Lucas' main street, opposite the post office.
