Webster County 4-H Member Receives C.J. Gauger 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa -- A $750 scholarship has been awarded to a Webster County 4-H member. Jeremy Weiss, Barnum, has received the C.J. Gauger 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Iowa 4-H Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund.
Weiss, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Sandy Weiss and Jeff and Denise Weiss. He has participated most actively in the project areas of communications, photography and personal development. On the state level, he was an Iowa 4-H Youth Council finance committee co-chair, Iowa 4-H foundation trustee and pioneer community improvement grant committee member. He served as president, vice-president and treasurer of his 4-H club. He was also a member in his county 4-H council, county youth committee, Iowa 4-H Youth Council and attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and Citizenship Washington Focus program.
“4-H has helped me to become an effective leader and communicator, to be a better citizen and to gain life skills that I will use well into the future,” Weiss said. “It’s changed me into a better person.”
Weiss is a graduate of Manson Northwest Webster High School and is planning to major in business human resources and marketing at Iowa State University.
