Jasper County 4-H Member Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship


AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Jasper County 4-H member. Jordan Vander Molen, Sully, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.


Vander Molen, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Mike and Pamela Vander Molen. He has participated most actively in the project areas of market beef, breeding beef and woodworking. On the county level, he has received the Senior Award Trip and citizenship record book award. He served as president, vice-president and treasurer of his 4-H club. He was also a representative at the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.


“I have enjoyed looking back through my nine years of record keeping and seeing how I have changed as an individual and how I have grown and what I have learned,” Vander Molen said.


Vander Molen is a graduate of Pella Christian High School and plans to major in agricultural production management at Kirkwood Community College.
