Adair County 4-H Member Receives Prestage-Stoecker Farms 4-H Scholarship


AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to an Adair County 4-H member. Matt Mensing, Greenfield, has received a Prestage-Stoecker Farms 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Stoecker Farms, Inc.


Mensing, a seven-year 4-H member, is the son of Keith and Sharon Mensing. He has participated most actively in the project areas of beef, agriculture and natural resources, and science and engineering. On the county level, he received awards for leadership, outstanding senior and the Ak-Sar-Ben award. He served as president and treasurer of his 4-H club. He was also a member of his county 4-H council, area 4-H council and the Iowa 4-H Youth Council.


“4-H has given me the opportunity to go places and meet friends that I never would have had without 4-H,” Mensing said.


Mensing is a sophomore at Iowa State University majoring in agriculture business. He is an active member of collegiate 4-H, block and bridle club, agriculture business club, and the collegiate beef team.
