AMES, Iowa -- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Henry County 4-H member. Heather Sinclair, Mr. Pleasant, has received an Orscheln 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Orscheln, Inc.
Sinclair, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Brian and Deborah Sinclair. She has participated most actively in the project areas of home improvement, communication, and food and nutrition. On the county level, she has received awards for outstanding 4-Her, senior achievement and leadership. She served as president, vice-president and treasurer of her 4-H club. She was also a member in her county 4-H council, area 4-H council, Iowa 4-H Youth Council and county youth committee. She also attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
“4-H has truly guided my life. A fourth generation 4-Her I grew up ‘bleeding green,’” Sinclair said. “4-H has helped me take risks, helped me learn life skills, created numerous friendships and opened up many doors.”
Sinclair is a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community High School and plans to major in apparel merchandising at Iowa State University.
