AMES, Iowa -- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Wapello County 4-H member. Melissa Lind, Agency, has received an Orscheln 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Orscheln, Inc.
Lind, an eight-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Jim and Connie Lind. She has participated most actively in the project areas of animal science, horse, and visual arts. On the county level, she received awards for visual arts design and media exploration, visual arts chalk and pigment and senior handler. She served as president and secretary of her 4-H club. She was also a member of his county 4-H council.
“Without 4-H I would never have had the opportunity to become a better leader in my club, community, county and state,” Lawler said.
Lind is a graduate of Cardinal High School and plans to major in animal science at Iowa State University.
