Boone County 4-H Member Receives Stratton 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Boone County 4-H member. Cory Haglund, Boone, has received the Stratton 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Stratton family and Stratton Memorial.
Haglund, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Kriss and Crystal Haglund. He has participated most actively in the project areas of beef, leadership and citizenship. On the county level, he has received awards for spirit, and outstanding senior and freshman. He served as president, vice-president and treasurer of his 4-H club. He was also a member of his county 4-H council and attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
“4-H has had a great impact on my life,” Haglund said. “It has helped me build greater leadership skills while generating my interest in agriculture.”
Haglund is a sophomore at Iowa State University majoring in animal science. He is also an active member of block and bridle club and entrepreneurship and innovation learning community.
