AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Sac County 4-H member. Lindsey Currie, Schaller, has received the Phyllis J. Olson 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Phyllis J. Olson Scholarship Fund through the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
Currie, an 11-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Keith and Nancy Currie. She has participated most actively in the project areas of leadership, citizenship and personal development. On the county level, she has received awards for the top senior record book and the Ak-Sar-Ben award. She served as president, vice-president and junior leader of her 4-H club. She was also a member in her county 4-H council, area 4-H council, Iowa 4-H Youth Council and county youth committee. She was also a representative at the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
“Many of my leadership, time management and organization skills developed through my 4-H experiences,” Currie said.
Currie is a sophomore at Iowa State University and is majoring in dietetics. She is also actively involved in Phi Beta Chi sorority, nutrition club and student dietetic association.
