Monroe County 4-H Member Receives Bettis 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa -- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Monroe County 4-H member. Jarred Crall, Albia, has received the Bettis 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Lloyd and Kathryn Bettis in memory of Herbert Bettis and in honor of Lucille Bettis.
Crall, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Tim and DeeAnn Crall. He has participated most actively in the project areas of market beef, breeding beef and woodworking. On the county level, he received awards for outstanding junior, and both market and breeding heifer. He served as president of his 4-H club. He was also a member of his county 4-H council and county youth committee.
“The leadership and responsibility skills I have gained through my 4-H experiences will help in my future collegiate career and carry on throughout my life,” Crall said.
Crall is a graduate of Albia Community High School and plans to major in engineering at Iowa State University.
