Career Days Set for Girls in Science and Engineering

AMES, Iowa—"Taking the Road Less Traveled: A Career Conference for Girls" will allow females in grades 6 through 12 to explore career paths in science, technology, engineering and math in April at Iowa State University.
The conference is sponsored by the Program for Women in Science and Engineering and takes place in the Memorial Union on the ISU campus.
Approximately 2,500 individuals participated in last year's conference, according to Carol Heaverlo, outreach coordinator for the women's science program.
Participants will hear from professional women in the morning and participate in hands-on activities or tours in the afternoon. The cost is $15 per participant (students, educators, chaperones) and includes lunch.
Registration deadlines are: grades 9 to 12 should post mark registration by March 22 for the April 5 conference; grades 6 to 9 should postmark registration by March 29 for the April 12 conference or by April 5 for the April 19 conference.
