Growers Can Gain the Advantage at ISU’s Crop Advantage Series
12/12/2007
AMES, Iowa -- Fungicides and corn yields will be one of the featured topics at the 2008 Crop Advantage Series. Sponsored by Iowa State University (ISU) Extension, this series will be held Jan. 4-31 at 13 locations around Iowa.
“This year’s program brings timely topics, such as the use of corn fungicides, directly to our producers,” says John Holmes, ISU Extension field agronomist for central Iowa. “With the rapid changes taking place in Iowa crop production it’s important that we provide the latest information to growers.”
The other featured speaker is Elwynn Taylor, ISU Extension climatologist. He will be discussing how growers can keep up with weather changes and the weather outlook for the 2008 growing season.
The remainder of the program will feature presentations on soil fertility, pest management, marketing and crop production issues. These topics are different at each of the 13 meetings in the series. A full listing of meetings and topics is available at www.cropadvantage.org.
For more information about this program call your local ISU Extension field agronomist or email aep@iastate.edu. Additional information and online registration is available on the Crop Advantage Web site at www.cropadvantage.org.
