Media Advisory: Farmland Values News Conference on Dec. 18

AMES, Iowa -- A news conference to announce the results of the 2007 Iowa Farmland Value Survey conducted by Iowa State University (ISU) is scheduled for 10 a.m.,Tuesday, Dec. 18. The news conference will be held at the Extension 4-H Youth Building, at the corner of 13th Street and Stange Road on the north edge of the ISU campus.


Michael Duffy, ISU Extension economist who directs the survey, will announce the 2007 findings at the news conference. He also will be available after the news conference for phone interviews at (515) 294-3000.

A printed news release with data from all 99 counties and state maps will be available. Duffy also will have background material. The handout materials and a live stream of the news conference will be available on the World Wide Web at 10 a.m., linked from www.extension.iastate.edu/landvalue/ .


Land value survey information from the 1994-2006 news conferences is available on ISU Extension’s Web site at www.extension.iastate.edu/landvalue/ . The site also has a link to yearly data back to 1950.  A news release on the 2007 survey results and a table with data for all 99 Iowa counties will be released to the media at 10 a.m. Dec. 18.
