Monroe County 4-H’er Earns Clothing Project Award

AMES, Iowa – Susan Scieszinski of Monroe County received a state 4-H clothing project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment. Scieszinski, 17, is the daughter of John and Annette Scieszinski of Albia.
During eight nine years in 4-H, Scieszinski has completed several major projects including clothing, leadership, communication, visual art and home improvement. She has received top 10 percent recognition in the 2005 state fair clothing selection competition, and has been a state fair presenter and exhibitor. Scieszinski also has received a county clothing award. She has served as president, vice president and secretary of her 4-H club. She has served on her county 4-H council and participated in the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
“4-H has helped me develop great communication and consumer skills in everyday life,” said Scieszinski. “I have developed a passion for the art of communication, and next fall I hope to attend the University of Iowa to pursue a career in the business and communication fields.”
Scieszinski is a senior at Albia High School.
