AMES, Iowa – Krista Frazee of Montgomery County received a state 4-H beef project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Iowa 4-H Foundation and the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment. Frazee, 18, is the daughter of William and Debora Frazee of Emerson.
During her nine years in 4-H, Frazee completed several major projects including beef, horse, sheep, citizenship and food & nutrition. She received many state 4-H awards in beef, citizenship, leadership and visual arts. Along with these, Frazee received the Danforth “I Dare You” Award and the AK-SAR-BEN Award in Montgomery County. She was also the president, vice president, secretary and historian of her 4-H club. She served on her county and area 4-H councils, her County Youth Committee, and participated in Citizenship-Washington Focus and the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference. She also received a 2006 Orscheln Scholarship.
“4-H has opened my eyes to many different activities and programs that I would not have otherwise been active in,” said Frazee.
Frazee is a freshman at Iowa State University.
