Keokuk County 4-H’er Earns Dog Project Award

AMES, Iowa – Lisa Wehr of Keokuk County received a state 4-H dog project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Wehr, 17, is the daughter of Larry and Rhonda Wehr of Sigourney.

 

During her eight years in 4-H, Wehr has completed several major projects including dog, sheep, dairy, photography and leadership. She has received county level honors such as an agricultural award and top photography exhibit. She has been vice president, historian and secretary of her 4-H club. She has served on her county 4-H council and participated in the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and Citizenship-Washington Focus.

 

“4-H has given me the chance to explore new areas and expand my knowledge in the areas I was already familiar with,” said Wehr. “After participating in 4-H, I have chosen my future career as veterinary medicine.”

 

Wehr is a senior at Sigourney High School.
