Adair County 4-H’er Earns Citizenship Project Award

AMES, Iowa – Natalie Bohling of Adair County received a state 4-H citizenship project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Iowa 4-H Foundation and the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment. Bohling, 17, is the daughter of Lynn and Elaine Bohling of Greenfield.
During her eight years in 4-H, Bohling has completed several major projects including citizenship, communication, leadership and clothing. She has received many state 4-H honors such as seals of excellence in communication events, participation in the state clothing event for two years and the President’s student service challenge award. Along with these, Bohling has received the achievement award, 4-H spirit award and outstanding intermediate 4-H’er in Adair County. She has been president and treasurer of her 4-H club. She also has served on her county and state 4-H councils, county youth action committee, attended National 4-H Congress and participated in the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference, Camera Corps, Citizenship-Washington Focus and 4-H State Legislative Day. She also received the 2005 Iowa Youth Character Award.
“I believe every individual can make a difference!” said Bohling. “My 4-H experiences have taught me responsibility and leadership as well as the rewards of helping others and the benefits of lifelong friendships.”
Bohling is a senior at Nodaway Valley High School.
