AMES, Iowa – Alyssa Lundgren of Webster County received a state 4-H visual arts project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Iowa 4-H Foundation and the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment. Lundgren, 16, is the daughter of Todd and Kay Lundgren of Lehigh.
During her eight years in 4-H, Lundgren has completed several major projects including visual arts, photography, citizenship, beef and cats. She has exhibited at the state fair in many project areas, including visual arts, citizenship, photography, family heritage and educational presentation. Along with these, Lundgren has received many county-level awards in visual art, photography, beef, cat, and longtime record keeping. She has been secretary, treasurer, photographer and historian of her 4-H club. She has served on her county 4-H council and youth committee and was a participant in Citizenship-Washington Focus, the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and Animal Science Roundup. She also received second place in a congressional art competition.
“I know that I have made a great choice by choosing to participate in 4-H activities,” said Lundgren. “4-H has helped me learn to look for all the possibilities in my future.”
Lundgren is a junior at Southeast Webster-Grand High School.
