Buena Vista County 4-H’er Earns Leadership Project Award

AMES, Iowa – Adam Glienke of Buena Vista County received a state 4-H leadership project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment. Glienke, 17, is the son of Brian and Cindy Glienke of Aurelia.

 

During his nine years in 4-H, Glienke has completed several major projects including leadership, citizenship, dairy, woodworking and welding. He has received state 4-H dairy and leadership awards. Along with these, Glienke has received many county-level honors such as the Craig Sump Memorial Award, senior merit award, senior achievement award, and the Rafa Worthan Memorial Award. He has been president, vice president, secretary and treasurer of his 4-H club. He has served on his county and area 4-H Councils and his county youth committee, and participated in Citizenship-Washington Focus and the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.

 

“Through 4-H I gained communication skills from the many presentations I have done, leadership skills from the workshops I have led, and citizenship from helping out with so many projects,” said Glienke. “4-H is a great learning experience.”

 

Glienke is a senior at Aurelia High School.
