AMES, Iowa – Beth Baudler of Adair County received a state 4-H leadership project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment. Baudler, 17, is the daughter of Clifton and Sandra Baudler of Fontanelle.
During her six years in 4-H, Baudler has completed several major projects including leadership, communication, heritage, visual arts and beef. She has received state 4-H honors such as the seal of excellence for a working exhibit and second place in the beef premier exhibitor competition. In addition, Baudler has received many awards at the county level in agriculture, leadership, beef, heritage and the Presidential Citizenship Award. She also has been the president, treasurer and secretary of her 4-H club. She serves on her county and state 4-H councils and has participated in the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
“Through 4-H I have developed leadership skills and learned how to work with all types of people,” said Baudler. “It has helped me see the value of community service and the impact one can make on someone else’s life. By encouraging me to develop many different skills, 4-H has helped prepare me for my future.”
Baudler is a senior at Nodaway Valley High School.
