Have Fun and Make a Difference – Volunteer at the Iowa 4-H Center
9/6/2006
AMES, Iowa – Past and present 4-H’ers, their family and friends, and other interested volunteers will spend a day making a difference at the Iowa 4-H Center near Madrid in Boone County.
Set for Saturday, October 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., this fun volunteer day is sponsored by the Iowa 4-H Center, a joint venture of Iowa State University Extension and the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
Make a Difference Day gives all fans of 4-H the chance to have fun while volunteering outdoors as they wood-chip trails, clean cabins, paint, and help with ground clean-up. Everyone who participates receives a free breakfast and lunch, as well as a chance in the prize drawing at noon.
The coordinators of the event would like to prepare for the amount of volunteers attending. If interested, contact the camp at (515) 795-3338.
“This is a great opportunity to give back to an amazing organization,” states John Roosa, 4-H Center manager. “Show how much you appreciate 4-H by volunteering for Make a Difference Day!”
