Cow-Calf Management Seminar Set for Sept. 20 in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Iowa – Beef producers are invited to attend a cow-calf management seminar, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Knoxville Regional Livestock Market (KRLM).
“We have a great agenda planned, and the seminar is planned for the evening to accommodate producers with off-farm jobs,” says Joe Sellers, Iowa State University (ISU) Extension livestock specialist.
Speakers slated for the seminar include Sellers, Daryl Strohbehn, professor, animal science, ISU and Raymond “Bub” Hoskins, KRLM.
Topics to be presented include:
- Using beef cow condition scoring as a management tool
- Reducing winter feed costs using grain co-products
- Results of the Iowa Beef Center feeder calf marketing study: What creates value?
- Fall cattle marketing prospects
