AMES, Iowa—Renae Bishop of Fayette County has been selected to represent Iowa at the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Ga. Nov. 25-29. She is sponsored by the Iowa Farm Bureau Life Charitable Trust and Kent Feeds, Inc. Bishop is the daughter of Gary and Sandy Bishop of West Union.

Bishop will join 22 other youth from Iowa at the leadership conference, entitled "Lead, Learn, Grow." Iowa's Congress delegates are selected through interviews and evaluation of support materials. Bishop, a junior at North Fayette High School, was chosen for her leadership, citizenship and overall achievement in the 4-H program.

During her eight years in 4-H, Bishop has completed several major projects including visual arts, dairy, home improvement, photography and rabbit. She has received honors at the county level in the project areas of visual arts and dairy. She has served as historian and reporter of her 4-H club. Bishop also has served on her county, area and state 4-H councils and has participated in the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.

“4-H has given me many skills and opportunities,” said Bishop. “It is an excellent place to learn leadership, citizenship and communication while getting real world experience.”
