AMES, Iowa – Delegates were recently announced for the 2006 National 4-H Congress set for Nov. 24-28 in Atlanta, Ga.

“National 4-H Congress is an amazing opportunity for Iowa 4-H’ers," according to Brenda Allen, Iowa State University Extension 4-H youth development specialist. "Not only do youth meet and learn from delegates from across the country, they also have the opportunity to hear nationally renowned speakers and participate in thought-provoking workshops."

This year workshop topics include organization, leadership skills, cultural differences and creating personal mission statements. Delegates are selected based on overall achievement in the 4-H program, particularly outstanding leadership and service in their local club, county and beyond.

Two adults also will attend the  event. Mitchell Hoyer, with 4-H Youth Development, and Carol Peterson, Extension director for Winnebago County, will accompany the delegates.
