Worth County 4-H'er to attend National 4-H Congress in Atlanta

AMES, Iowa—Maddi Arnold of Worth County has been selected to represent Iowa at the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Ga. Nov. 24-28. She is sponsored by the Iowa Farm Bureau Life Charitable Trust and Sukup Manufacturing Company. Arnold, 16, is the daughter Kathy and Steven Arnold of Northwood.

 

Arnold will join 22 other youth from Iowa at the leadership conference, entitled "Lead, Learn, Grow." Iowa's Congress delegates are selected through interviews and evaluation of support materials. Arnold, a junior at Northwood-Kensett Junior and Senior High School, was chosen for her leadership, citizenship and overall achievement in the 4-H program. 

 

During her eight years in 4-H, Arnold has completed several major projects including leadership, communication, citizenship, swine and photography. She has received an area 4-H citizenship award and the KIMT TV Award. Along with these, Arnold has received a citizenship award in her home county. She also has served as vice president and secretary of her 4-H club. Arnold has served on her county and area 4-H councils.

 

“Through 4-H I have learned responsibility, leadership and how to be an involved citizen,” said Arnold. “It has helped me become a leader among the youth in my community.”
