AMES, Iowa – Kaitlin Robertson of Mills County has been selected to represent Iowa at the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Ga. Nov. 24-28. She is sponsored by the Iowa Farm Bureau Life Charitable Trust and the Creighton Knau Memorial. Robertson, 17, is the daughter of Carol and Duane Robertson of Pacific Junction.
Robertson will join 22 other youth from Iowa at the leadership conference, entitled "Lead, Learn, Grow." Iowa's Congress delegates are selected through interviews and evaluation of support materials. Robertson, a senior at Glenwood Community High School, was chosen for her leadership, citizenship and overall achievement in the 4-H program.
During her eight years in 4-H, Robertson has completed major projects including sheep, cattle, photography and visual arts. She has received honors at the county level such as the Hilton Memorial Sheep Award, reserve champion bucket calf, rate of gain for sheep and reserve champion commercial flock. She also has served as treasurer and secretary of her 4-H club. She has served on her county 4-H council and youth committee and is a member of the Iowa 4-H Technology Team.
“4-H has helped me grow into the leader I am today,” said Robertson. “It has given me the confidence that will make me successful in whatever I decide to do in the future.”
