Joint Iowa-Minnesota Commercial Manure Applicator Training Scheduled Jan. 5

AMES, Iowa -- Commercial or custom manure applicators who need to meet certification requirements in both Iowa and Minnesota should plan to attend the Jan. 5, 2007, commercial manure satellite uplink held in Nobles County and Mower County, Minnesota. This workshop will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m. to meet the regulatory requirements for both Iowa and Minnesota. Joint training will not be offered at any Iowa sites in 2007.
The program will cover the regulatory requirements for both Iowa and Minnesota, soil compaction issues, saving fuel during application and manure spill response. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., the satellite program starts at 9 a.m. Applicators should plan to arrive prior to 9 a.m. to complete registration forms prior to the workshop. Applicators who need to meet certification requirements in both states will also need to pay certification fees in both states; however, there is no fee to attend the workshop.
The Nobles County workshop site will be held at the Nobles County Government Center in Worthington, Minn., and the Mower County workshop site will be held at the Mower County Courthouse in Austin, Minn.
