Forum Addresses Water Quality in the Upper Midwest

AMES, Iowa    The seventh annual Drainage Research Forum will be held Nov. 28 in Owatonna, Minnesota.  The focus of this event is agricultural and water management issues in the upper Midwest.

 

“The Drainage Research Forum will highlight some of the most recent research and issues related to subsurface drainage with a focus on drainage water quality,” said Matt Helmers, Iowa State University (ISU) Extension engineer. 

 

“The program is intended for anyone interested in subsurface drainage. This is a jointly sponsored program between Iowa and Minnesota which we believe fosters collaboration between the states on drainage issues,” he said.   

 

The program runs from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at Cabela’s and is sponsored by ISU College of Agriculture, ISU Extension, University of Minnesota (UNM) College for Food, Agricultural and Natural Resources Sciences, UNM Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering and University of Minnesota Extension.

 

The cost is $40 per person for those who register on or before Nov. 17. The cost is $45 per person after that dates. The fee includes lunch and refreshments.
