AMES, Iowa – A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Floyd County 4-H member. Laura Larson, Nora Springs, received a Theisen Home/Farm/Auto 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Theisen Supply, Inc.
Larson, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Daryl and Jane Larson. She has served as president, secretary, treasurer and reporter of her 4-H club. Larson has participated most actively in the communications, visual arts, beef, swine and home improvement project areas. She received a Positive Peer Award, a Senior Member Chicago Trip Award, and an outstanding Recordkeeping Award.
“My 4-H experience has had a significant impact on my decision to go into the ag business field,” Larson said. “I would like to obtain a job in the marketing department of a major agriculture company such as Cargill or Monsanto.”
Larson, a recent graduate of Rockford Senior High School, plans to attend Iowa State University to study agriculture business.
