Bremer County 4-H Member Receives Pioneer 4-H Scholarship


AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Bremer County 4-H member. Levi Bergmann, Waverly, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.


Bergmann, an 11-year member, is the son of Randy and Dawn Bergmann. He is active in beef, rabbits, poultry, and woodworking project areas. Bergmann has participated in the Iowa State Fair in extemporaneous speaking and has received senior project awards and champion awards for beef, poultry and rabbits. He has served on county 4-H council and as president, vice-president and secretary of his 4-H club. In school, he is the president of his FFA chapter and is active in football and the S.A.D.D. chapter.


"My 4-H participation with animals has greatly affected my choice of college majors and I feel my participation will lead me to a great career," Bergmann said. "4-H has been an important part of my life the last 10 years and it has helped me to become a better person."


Bergmann is currently a senior at Waverly-Shell Rock High School and plans to attend Hawkeye Community College to study agriculture.
