Monona County 4-H Member Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Monona County 4-H member. Nathan Hausman, Onawa, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.
Hausman, a six-year member, is the son of Ron and Cindy Hausman. He is active in the beef, science and engineering, home improvement and clothing project areas. Hausman served as secretary and treasurer of his 4-H club and has received county achievement, agriculture and senior merit awards. He also has won many county project awards in citizenship, communications and leadership. In school, Hausman is active in basketball, National Honor Roll and is listed in "Who's Who Among High School Students."
"My 4-H participation reinforced my career choice of agriculture," Hausman said. "I feel that 4-H has shown me how to be a better people person while being a very energetic and hard worker."
Hausman is currently a senior at West Monona High School and plans to attend Iowa Western Community College to major in agriculture business.
