Warren County 4-H Member Receives Iowa State Fair 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa-- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Warren County 4-H member. Clinton Hodson, Ackworth, has received an Iowa State Fair 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Iowa Foundation for Agriculture Advancement.
Hodson, a nine-year member, is the son of Ralph and Jacque Hodson. He is active in poultry, market beef and sheep production project areas. Hodson has shown broiler pen for five years at the Iowa State Fair and won reserve champion broiler pen in 2003. He has served as vice-president and treasurer of his 4-H club and on county 4-H council. Hodson is the current president of his FFA chapter and attended a national FFA convention as a selected delegate by his chapter. In school, he helps with the annual barbeque and has received an academic letter for three years.
"My experience in 4-H has taught me to be a better person," Hodson said. "When I decide on a goal, I am very good at keeping it and finishing what I started with hard work and determination."
Hodson is currently a senior at Indianola High School and plans to attend Iowa State University to major in agricultural engineering.
