AMES, Iowa-- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Polk County 4-H member. Dana Hill, Madrid, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.
Hill, a nine-year member, is the daughter of Morey and Rhonda Hill. She is active in sheep, cattle, swine and poultry project areas. Hill has served as president, vice-president and secretary of her 4-H club and on county and area 4-H councils. She received citizenship and 4-H leadership awards in the past. In school, Hill is active in choir, band and theater. She was selected to be a part of the Iowa Ambassadors of Music that traveled seven countries in Europe.
"My 4-H participation has helped me to become a better leader and my communication skills have increased tremendously," Hill said. "I believe that showing people how to do things and helping them out can be lots of fun."
Hill is currently a senior at Ballard High School and plans to attend DMACC to study liberal arts and agriculture studies.
