Dubuque County 4-H Member Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa-- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Dubuque County 4-H member. Kurt Wolf, Epworth, received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.
Wolf, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of James and Kimberly Wolf. As a 4-H member Wolf served as president and vice-president of his 4-H club and was active in dairy, swine, poultry, beef and woodworking project areas. Wolf placed second in team dairy judging and eighth overall in individual dairy judging at the World Dairy Expo this year, which Wolf feels is "one of my biggest accomplishments." He also has received the I Dare You Award. In school, Wolf is active in varsity wrestling and FFA.
"Leadership and responsibility skills I have learned throughout my 4-H career will be a great asset to my future plans as a dairyman and dairy science major," Wolf said. "I can return to our family farm after graduating from college as a successful dairyman, using the knowledge that I have acquired."
Wolf is currently a senior at Western Dubuque High School and plans to attend Northeast Iowa Community College to major in dairy science.
