AMES, Iowa--Barbara Sauser, Cascade, will be an adult delegate to the 2006 National 4-H Conference, March 25 to 30, at the National 4-H Council in Chevy Chase, MD.
Joining Sauser will be Kevin Peyton of Sac City, Melanie Adam of Sioux City, Marla Claussen of Bettendorf and Laura Kuennen of Northwood. Diana Cox of Iowa City will be attending the conference as another adult delegate.
The theme for the 76th annual National 4-H Conference is "Connect 4-H--Let's Get Together!" Delegates will take part in a hands-on service learning project.
"It's an honor to be selected to attend National 4-H Conference," Brenda Allen, Iowa State University Extension 4-H specialist, said. "These delegates excelled in the 4-H program in Iowa and will be sharing some of the outstanding programs Iowa 4-H has with participants across the nation. They also have the opportunity to learn about cutting edge youth development programs from others."
Sauser was a nine-year 4-H member and is a current ISU Extension staffer. She has received the 4-H Youth Professional Award, the Epsilon Sigma Phi Team Award and the I Dare You Award. Sauser's trip is sponsored by Grinnell Mutual Insurance Foundation.
"My experiences as a 4-H'er did influence my career choice with the Extension service and 4-H program," Sauser said.
