Ration Software Workshop Offered to Cow-Calf Producers
AMES, Iowa -- A workshop for cow-calf producers is scheduled for March 14, 10 a.m.-2:45 p.m. in Kildee Hall on the Iowa State University (ISU) campus in Ames.
The workshop will focus on making feed and forage management decisions for cow-calf operations using software developed by the Iowa Beef Center at ISU. Producers should bring along current rations and number of acres of pasture, hay and cornstalks for grazing as well as numbers of cows and heifers..
Pre registration on or before March 13 is required. The cost of the workshop is $15 for those who have participated in a recently held cow-calf risk management workshop and $20 for others. The workshop is part of a 2006 series called “Cow-Calf Risk Strategies,” a year-long effort to educate cow-calf producers and to develop risk management solutions.
