Washington County 4-H Member Receives Pioneer CC 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Washington County 4-H member. Brayton Turner, Washington, received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.

Turner, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Steve and Deb Turner. He has served as president, vice president and reporter of his 4-H club. Turner has participated most actively in the agriculture and natural resources, animal science, woodworking, photography and family heritage project areas. He received an outstanding 4-H member award for eight years, as well as an outstanding record book award. Turner participated in County 4-H Council and County Youth Committee.

"Working together with other 4-H members to accomplish various projects has been a great learning experience," Turner said. ""Working hard is very important to me and that is one of my qualities that I am most proud of."

Turner, a recent graduate of Washington High School, plans to attend Kirkwood Community College to study landscape management.
