Boone County 4-H Member Receives Orscheln 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa – A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Boone County 4-H member. Angela Savits, Ogden, received an Orscheln 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Orscheln Farm and Home Supply Co., Inc.
Savits, a 10-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Jon and Dee Savits. She has served as president, vice president and treasurer of her 4-H club. Savits has participated most actively in the swine, beef, child development and food, nutrition and clothing project areas. She received a State 4-H Council award and was a Chairman of County Council. Savits was also a member of State 4-H Council and participated in Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
"My past 4-H experiences influenced my decision to pursue a career in Family and Consumer Science," Savits said. "4-H has taught me to set goals and follow steps to achieve them. I have assumed leadership roles and worked as a team member and I will continue to do so in the future."
Savits, a recent graduate of Ogden High School, plans to attend Iowa State University.
