Keokuk County 4-H Member Receives Pioneer 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Keokuk County 4-H member. Bryan Bayliss, Keota, received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.

Bayliss, an eight-year 4-H member, is the son of Gary and Joen Bayliss. He has served as vice president and secretary of his 4-H club. Bayliss has participated most actively in the woodworking, welding, swine, beef and poultry project areas. He has participated in Area 4-H Council and has won a Jr. Showmanship award.

"4-H has helped to expand my knowledge mostly, but not limited to, with livestock," Bayliss said. "4-H has secured my career choice to be a productive farmer."

Bayliss, a recent graduate of Keota High School, plans to attend Kirkwood Community College.
