Page County 4-H Member Receives Iowa State Fair 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Page County 4-H Member. Sarah Beaver, Clarinda, received an Iowa State Fair 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement.
Beaver, a nine-year member, is the daughter of Ron and Cheryl Beaver. She is active in beef, food and nutrition, child development and vet science project areas. Beaver has served on county, area and state 4-H councils and was a Citizenship-Washington Focus participant. She also has attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and served as vice-president of her 4-H club. In high school, Beaver was active in FFA, sports and chorus.
"The life skills I have learned in 4-H are invaluable," said Beaver. "It has played a vital role in making a career decision."
Beaver graduated from Clarinda High School in May and plans to attend Iowa State University to major in agriculture communications.
