Dry Manure Applicator Certification Offered

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University (ISU) Extension will offer a three-hour manure applicator certification workshop for dry manure operators at three locations in February.
This certification meeting is for both confinement site and commercial manure applicators who primarily apply dry manure. Although confinement site applicators are only required to attend two hours of annual training, this meeting will be three hours in length to provide training to commercial applicators. All attendees will be required to stay for the entire workshop.
Workshop topics will include current regulatory requirements for manure applicators, manure sampling strategies, Chapter 200A requirements for sales of dry manure, calibration and uniformity of application and stockpiling issues.

Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. at the Wright County ISU Extension Office, Clarion, (515) 532-3453
