Boone County 4-H Member Receives Pioneer 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Boone County 4-H member. Garrett Tingwald, Woodward, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.

Tingwald, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Keith and Linda Tingwald. He has participated most actively in automotive, woodworking, citizenship, music, and pen of three project areas. On the county level, he has received awards for junior and senior spirit, achievement, citizenship, music, and also the gold project award for woodworking. He served as president and vice president of his 4-H club. He also participated in his County 4-H Council, County Youth Committee, and Citizenship-Washington Focus.

“4-H has taught me to be a better leader and more knowledgeable about the things that I plan on doing later in life,” said Tingwald. “My future plans have been set for me, thanks to 4-H.”
 
Tingwald, a recent graduate of Woodward-Granger High School, hopes to attend Iowa State University for Ag Studies in the future.
