Greene County 4-H Member Receives Career 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa -- A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Greene County 4-H Member. Kristin Towers, Scranton, received the Career 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Shirley A. Stakey.

 

Towers, an 11-year member, is the daughter of Dan and Katie Towers. She is active in communications, swine and food and nutrition project areas. Towers has served on her county youth committee and as treasurer and secretary of her local 4-H club. She has received the Iowa Communication Project Recognition- Seal of Excellence and is involved in America Reads/America Counts tutor program through Iowa State University.

 

"Through involvement with 4-H I have become a well-rounded person," said Towers. "4-H has truly shaped me into the person I've become."

 

Towers is currently a sophomore at Iowa State University majoring in child and family services and sociology.
