Johnson County 4-H'er Earns Leadership Project Award


AMES, Iowa -- Rachel Wall of Johnson County received a state 4-H leadership project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Iowa 4-H Foundation and the Zetta Lind Memorial. Wall, 17, is the daughter of Tom and Anita Wall of Iowa City.


During her nine years of 4-H involvement, Wall has completed several major projects including leadership, citizenship, communication, food and nutrition and self-determined. She has served her local 4-H club as president, secretary, treasurer, reporter and bulletin board chairperson. Wall has attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference/Animal Science Roundup in Ames, Iowa and the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia. She has served on her County 4-H Council and has received a state 4-H project award in citizenship.  Wall has also received a food and nutrition project award, was the 2005 Johnson County Fair Queen and a delegate to 2005 Girls State.


"4-H has given me a solid foundation of leadership, citizenship and communication skills that will benefit me throughout the rest of my life," said Wall.  "4-H has given me a strong basis of morals and values and has allowed me to spend time with my family."


Wall is a senior at West Branch High School.
