Buena Vista County 4-H'er Earns Dairy Project Award

AMES, Iowa -- Adam Glienke of Buena Vista County received a state 4-H dairy project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Glienke, 16, is the son of Brian and Cindy Glienke of Aurelia.
During his seven years of 4-H involvement, Glienke has completed several major projects including dairy, leadership, citizenship, beef and food and nutrition. He has served his local 4-H club as president, vice president, secretary/reporter and treasurer. Glienke has served on his County and Area 4-H Councils and the Buena Vista County Executive 4-H Committee. Glienke has also received a senior project award in dairy and leadership. He has also received the "I Dare You" award and the Rafa Worthan 4-H award. Glienke has participated in the Citizenship Washington Focus trip to Washington D.C. and the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference/Animal Science Roundup in Ames, Iowa.
"Through 4-H, I have gained many life skills that I never expected," said Glienke. "I have gained skills in record keeping, communication, leadership and citizenship and have gained confidence in my public speaking through 4-H. My future plans include going to college to learn more about the dairy industry and I feel 4-H has given me a head start."
Glienke is a junior at Aurelia High School.
