Story County 4-H'er Earns Dairy Goat Project Award


AMES, Iowa -- Bethany Drury of Story County received a state 4-H dairy goat project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment. Drury, 14, is the daughter of Byron and Cyndie Drury of Nevada. 


During her six years of 4-H involvement, Drury has completed several major projects including dairy goat, horse, vet science, communication and citizenship.  She has served her local 4-H club as president, vice president and historian. Drury has received the Dairy Goat Level D Award, Overall Champion Dairy Goat and was selected to participate at the Iowa State Fair in Share the Fun and educational presentations.


"4-H has given me a lot of opportunities which I have used to develop life skills such as communication, leadership and citizenship," said Drury.  "I have learned how to set and achieve goals and share my experience with younger 4-H'ers."  "I have also had the opportunity to experience various career options and I am motivated to do my best in all of my endeavors."
