AMES, Iowa –Emerging Trends and Innovations in Concrete is the theme of this year’s annual Iowa Better Concrete Conference Nov. 3 in the Scheman Building on the Iowa State University campus in Ames. Keynote speaker Amy Reineke Trygestad, Central United States Regional Structural Engineer for Buildings and Special Structures, will cover low and mid-rise concrete construction to translucent concrete technology in her opening address.

The conference is designed for architects, engineers, builders, developers, state and local officials, and general and sub-contractors. Excellence in Concrete awards will be presented during the noon luncheon. Projects submitted by Iowa contractors, designers, owners and ready-mix concrete producers will be recognized as the “best of the best” in 13 categories.
